Job summary

Farm Boy in Canada is seeking a Meat Cutter/Customer Service Team Member to bring our passion for quality to life by combining expert meat preparation with outstanding customer service. You will work with a team to prepare meats, maintain displays, and ensure a fresh, welcoming shopping experience.

You will follow safety standards, train teammates, and support store operations. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to work independently with pride in quality, detail and cleanliness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort in a fast-paced team environment with high service standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, engaging customer service reflecting Farm Boy’s standards.
• Welcome and assist customers using Farm Boy Service Standards.
• Prepare and cut meats for the service case with attractive displays.
• Package, stock and rotate display counters and shelves with high quality products.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work and storage areas.
• Follow Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and equipment use policies.
• Train and mentor team members in the Meat Cutter program.
• Complete opening and closing procedures and support team as needed.
• Assist leadership with inventory counts and supply orders.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support department operations.

• Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
• Welcome, greet, and assist customers using Farm Boy Service Standards while sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for our products.
• Prepare and cut meats for our service case, ensuring attractive displays and consistently high product standards.
• Package, stock, and rotate display counters and shelves so all products are finessed, fresh, and of exceptional quality.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and storage areas through general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing.
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures with particular focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP compliance, and proper equipment use.
• Train and mentor Team Members enrolled in the Meat Cutter development program, supporting skill development and operational excellence.
• Complete designated opening and closing procedures and provide support to fellow Team Members as needed.
• Assist the leadership team with operational duties, including inventory counts and supply ordering.
• Take on additional responsibilities on a periodic basis to support overall department operations.

• 1 - 3 years of related experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining high service and quality standards.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, frequent use of protective equipment or clothing, and work that is frequently performed in colder environments.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
