Our Meat Department provides high-quality, fresh meat products to our guests, helping them create memorable meals. As a Meat Cutter, you will ensure our meat offerings are prepared to perfection and meet high standards of quality.

External Job Description

What You'll Do: As a Festival Foods Meat Cutter, you will:

  • Expert Meat Cutting: Prepare non-case ready meat products, including cutting, grinding, wrapping, and trimming, following standards.
  • Butchery Leadership: Provide expertise and leadership on the sales floor, ensuring safety, sanitation, and effective inventory management.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Use your knowledge of meat cuts and cooking techniques to assist guests and ensure quality.
  • Quality and Quantity Standards: Maintain standards by filling service and self-service cases with fresh, frozen, and processed products.
  • Team Support: Support teammates and promote a positive culture in the Meat Department.
  • Drive Sales: Increase sales by ensuring products are visually appealing.
  • Minimize Waste: Follow production lists, trim standards, and minimize waste to reduce shrink.
  • Product Management: Properly package, label, and store meat products per company policies.
  • Training: Assist in training Utility team members in various meat preparation techniques.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain department cleanliness and equipment sanitization.
  • Guest Services: Provide excellent service with expert knowledge and attentive assistance.
  • Special Orders: Collect and fulfill special orders promptly.
  • Teamwork: Perform other duties to support the team.
  • Honor Commitments: Maintain regular attendance and notify in case of absences.

What We're Looking For: To succeed as a Festival Foods Meat Cutter, you should have:

  • Experience: Proven meat cutting experience in a grocery, retail, or meat production setting.
  • Customer Focus: Tactful and effective guest and personnel interaction.
  • Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication.
  • Product Knowledge: Knowledge of perishable foods, especially meat.
  • Age Requirement: Must be over 18.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Stand for long periods, bend, stoop, kneel regularly.
  • Lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.

Work Schedule: The position can be part-time or full-time, with flexible scheduling including mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, and possibly evenings or overnight shifts.
