Job Title: Meat Cutter

Reports To: Meat Manager

Are you an experienced butcher or meat cutter passionate about meat, seafood, and guest service? Do you thrive in a grocery environment where your craftsmanship shines? If yes, bring your expertise to our Meat Department as a Meat Cutter.

Our Meat Department provides high-quality, fresh meat products, helping guests create memorable meals. As a Meat Cutter, you will ensure our meat offerings meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Expert Meat Cutting: Prepare non-case ready meat products, including cutting, grinding, wrapping, and trimming, following standards.
  • Butchery Leadership: Lead on the sales floor, ensuring safety, sanitation, and effective inventory management.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Use your meat expertise to assist guests and ensure quality product offerings.
  • Standards Maintenance: Fill cases with fresh, frozen, and processed products, maintaining quality and quantity standards.
  • Team Support: Support teammates and foster a positive department culture.
  • Drive Sales: Enhance product appeal and sales through attention to detail.
  • Minimize Waste: Follow production lists, adhere to trim standards, and reduce waste.
  • Product Management: Properly package, label, and store meat products.
  • Training: Assist in training Utility team members in various meat preparation tasks.
  • Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain department cleanliness and equipment sanitization.
  • Guest Services: Provide excellent customer service and expert knowledge at the meat counter.
  • Special Orders: Fulfill special orders promptly.
  • Teamwork & Attendance: Perform additional duties as needed and maintain regular, timely attendance.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: Proven meat cutting or butchery experience in grocery, retail, or meat production.
  • Customer Focus: Tactful and effective guest and personnel interaction.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication.
  • Product Knowledge: Knowledge of meat and perishable foods.
  • Age: Must be over 18.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Stand, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
  • Lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
Work Schedule

The Meat Cutter role can be part-time or full-time, with schedules including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility for evenings or overnight shifts is available.
