Job summary

North Central Co-op CRS in Stony Plain is seeking a part-time Meat Clerk to join our Food Store team. You’ll deliver prompt, friendly service and help keep the meat department clean, organized and well stocked.

Open availability is an asset; previous retail experience is a plus. You will lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with colleagues to provide quality products and great customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Retail experience preferred, especially in meat dept.
• Excellent verbal communication.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Open availability is an asset.
• Honesty and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly and knowledgeable service to customers in the Meat Department
• Wrap, label and package prepared meats
• Ensure proper rotation is fresh and full at all times
• Facing, filling and organizing of all product items
• Disassemble and assemble all machines in department for thorough cleaning
• Wash cooler and prep room floors every day
• Clean and sanitize cutting blocks daily
• Monitor Case temperature and clean equipment
• Other housecleaning duties

• Previous retail experience, meat department would be an asset
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong verbal communication skills
• Enthusiastic approach to work
• Efficient and accurate when working in a busy environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs consistently
• Must be able to work with all types of meat and meat products
• You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
