Job summary

The Pioneer Co-Operative Association Limited in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan is seeking a full-time Meat Department team member to join our store team. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining product knowledge, assisting with meat preparation, pricing, and merchandising across the department.

Key requirements include a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the physical ability to lift and perform duties including weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers and sharing product knowledge.
• Ensure proper meat preparation, including traying, wrapping, value-added items, and pricing to department standards.
• Maintain merchandising and stocking of fresh, frozen, smoked, and island displays to Meat Department standards.
• Unload trucks, receive, inspect, and store merchandise; perform cleaning duties and uphold sanitation standards.
• Adhere to Safe Food Handling policies and maintain temperature logs and best-before dating.

Responsibilities

• To provide outstanding customer service, by assisting customers, and providing information and product knowledge, which is maintained through being dependable for all shifts and handling of customer complaints in accordance with the Hassle-Free Guarantee policy in a professional manner, as per Pioneer Co-op policies and procedures.
• To ensure proper meat preparation is achieved and maintained, such as traying, wrapping, value-added, and pricing to meat department standards.
• To ensure that the fresh case, frozen case, smoked case and all spot and island merchandisers are filled and merchandised to Meat Department Standards.
• To be responsible for unloading the truck, receiving, inspecting and storage of merchandise.
• To perform cleaning duties and ensure sanitation standards are maintained.
• To adhere to Safe Food Handling policies and procedures relating to the maintenance, sanitation and safety of all Pioneer Co-op assets.
• Ensure proper temperature logs and best before dating is executed accurately.

Requirements

• Have a positive, professional approach and attitude. A pleasant and out-going personality. Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends.
