Job summary

VistaCare Communications Services of Canada Inc. in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Cable Technician for its Multi-Dwelling Unit operations. This permanent, full-time position requires willingness to travel and a valid driver’s license.

You will install fibre optic cables, document results, and ensure safe, compliant work in indoor/outdoor environments. Key duties include testing, planning, and coordinating with teams to meet timelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and building plans.
• Experience in fibre optic testing and documenting results.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong listening, teamwork and writing abilities.
• Adherence to environmental, health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Install fibre optic cables in new and existing buildings.
• Identify and document cables and equipment.
• Safely use hand and portable tools.
• Drill buildings and install raceway, EMT, PVC or micro duct.
• Terminate connectors on single‑mode fibre per standards.
• Maintain knowledge of building and electrical codes.
