A leading company in asphalt products is seeking a Summer Student for their Ottawa facility. The role involves day-to-day operational tasks such as loading and unloading products, adhering to safety procedures, and general maintenance. Position SummaryIn this contract (summer) position, the Summer Student will be responsible for completing the day-to-day activities around the facility that include loading, adhering to policies, procedures and safety requirements and any other general duties.
Main Duties and Responsibilities• Bulk loading and offloading.
• Loading and unloading of pails, drums, and totes.
• General housekeeping duties (sweeping, painting, etc.).
• Adhering to all safety standards and requirements.
• Performing any other duties as required.
Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm and be available to work overtime if required.
Required Qualifications• Completion of high school diploma, along with a college diploma in-progress or completed.
• Previous work experience is welcome, but not essential. Paid, in-house training is provided for this position.
• A strong work either and an ability to work both autonomously and within a small team setting.
• A reliable method of transportation to and from work in a timely manner.
• Ability to work effectively, being responsible, resourceful, and autonomous.
• Lastly, a good sense of humour will also be a great asset!
