Position Summary

As a Regional Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), Central, you will serve as a key strategic advisor and people leader within your region, partnering with operations leadership to deliver HR solutions that enable business success. This role has both strategic and hands-on responsibilities—driving talent strategies, fostering a high-performing culture, and championing employee relations.

The Senior HRBP provides leadership to HR personnel within the region and ensures alignment of local practices with corporate HR objectives. As a trusted expert in people initiatives, this role will actively shape HR strategy, lead change, and support the development of talent while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Management

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Talent Development to ensure optimal talent recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
  • Drive regional workforce planning, succession planning, and performance management processes.
  • Coach managers on employee development, including the creation and monitoring of Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Oversee and participate in recruitment, onboarding processes, and 30-60-90 day check-ins for new hires.
  • Facilitate and enforce performance reviews, improvement plans, and ongoing feedback processes.
  • Lead the identification and development of high-potential talent across the region.

Labour/Employee Relations

  • Act as a key point of contact for employees and management in addressing workplace issues.
  • Guide investigations, coach managers, and support grievance, arbitration, or union-related proceedings.
  • Promote a positive and respectful work environment by mediating disputes and building mutual understanding.
  • Work closely with internal and external legal or labour partners including arbitrators, unions, and the Ministry of Labour.

Change Management

  • Support corporate and operational change initiatives by acting as a coach and role model for adaptability.
  • Help identify and support change champions across the business.
  • Communicate the business case for change and align people strategies accordingly.

Corporate Governance and Compliance

  • Ensure regional adherence to internal policies and all applicable labour laws.
  • Provide training and guidance to leaders and employees on compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor for trends or gaps that may pose HR-related risks to the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of HR generalist experience in a large and complex organizational environment
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is a strong asset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex employee relations matters
  • Experience in talent management, succession planning, and leadership coaching
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and labour relations practices
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and influence across all levels of the organization
