Status: Full Time Permanent Position (Seasonal)
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Calgary Facility – 7404 30th Street Southeast, Calgary, AB, T2C 1M8
Reporting to: Facility Manager

Additionally, McAsphalt provides comprehensive services and technology solutions, encompassing paving, testing, research and development, engineering, and consulting.
The General Labourer position at McAsphalt is the starting position of new employees with no previous experience.
In this position you will be exposed to various equipment types and all training will be provided, previous experience with mobile equipment an asset but not required.
Previous experience in an industrial setting, is an asset, not required.
• Providing support for building maintenance, including painting common areas, mechanical rooms, and exterior fixtures.
• Performing general labor duties, including painting, cleaning, manual labor, and yard work.
• Assisting with construction and maintenance projects, building and site maintenance, special projects, brushing, weed whacking, litter clean-up, and general maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned
Working in this position you will be able to progress into various positions, opportunity to return next season, or apprentice into trades there are pathways should you be interested in pursuing more training or experience.
• Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License and a clear abstract, you will be required to operate company vehicles and mobile equipment
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Knowledge in an industrial setting and awareness of process hazards
• Be able to work under a comprehensive safety program
• Must possess a strong work ethic and ability to work in an industrial setting
• Reliable transportation, punctuality is key
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
• Must be organized, self-driven, and have ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety rules, policies, and practice
• Demonstrates and practices “can-do attitude”
• Lastly, a good sense of humor will also be a great asset
