You’ll be guided by experienced professionals as you learn how organizations identify, assess, and respond to risk, while gaining exposure to our market‑leading AI and digital tools. You’ll benefit from a rich internship experience that includes meetings with firm leadership, interactive lunch and learns, skill‑building workshops, client visits, and opportunities to participate in volunteer and social events. Grow here, go further.

The Opportunity: Enterprise Risk & Governance

A career in our Enterprise Risk & Governance practice, within Risk Services, will provide you with the opportunity to assist clients in developing analytics and technology‑enabled solutions to solve complex business problems. Our work helps organizations detect and manage data, reporting, and security risks, strengthen how data is governed and used, and improve confidence in the information that supports critical business decisions.

Our team helps business leaders manage data‑related risks and enhance governance frameworks that enable better outcomes. You will assess current data governance and reporting capabilities, support the execution of data‑enabled solutions, and evaluate internal controls against leading standards like COSO. This includes testing controls, conducting risk assessments, and advising on governance structures—helping clients build trust, accountability, and resilience across their data and risk management practices.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Performing your work efficiently while meeting established timelines and budgets.
  • Supporting process and controls work across the 3 lines (e.g., process documentation, walkthrough support, risk and control identification).
  • Assisting with internal control testing procedures (design and operating effectiveness), including preparing testing documentation and organizing evidence.
  • Clearly and concisely documenting work performed and evidence gathered; validating completeness, relevance, and quality of support.
  • Flagging potential control gaps, exceptions, or documentation issues to senior team members and helping track follow‑up items.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with engagement leaders to ensure clarity, quality, and proper follow‑up of deliverables.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal teams and clients.
  • Staying up to date on trends in governance, risk management, internal audit, regulation, and emerging technologies/analytics as they relate to controls and assurance.
  • Supporting the creation of client‑ready materials (e.g., process narratives/flowcharts, test plans, status trackers, and summary slides).
  • Identifying opportunities to promote the firm’s services to new clients or deepen existing client relationships.
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve:
  • Enrolled in post‑secondary education and working to obtain the Canadian CPA required prerequisite courses
  • Intellectual curiosity: a willingness to challenge the status quo, test assumptions, and seek the best solutions.
  • Creativity and critical thinking to solve complex regulatory and risk management issues, while tailoring solutions to client needs.
  • Humility, openness to feedback, and receptiveness to coaching.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • An interest in financial services, engineering, the public sector, or related fields (an asset, but not required).
  • A passion for how modern methods and technologies (data, analytics, automation) can improve organizational performance
  • Foundation understanding in analytical, automation, and visualization platforms such as Informatica, Databricks, Azure, Fabric Data Flow, Alteryx, PowerQuery/PowerBI, etc.
  • An understanding of management principles, operational efficiency, and core risk management concepts.
  • Comfort with research, analysis, and synthesizing information from multiple sources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and willingness to learn additional tools or platforms.
  • A growth mindset and a strong desire to continuously develop new skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Alignment with PwC values: acting with integrity, making a difference, caring, working together, and reimagining the possible.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong prioritization and problem‑solving skills.
  • Valid Federal Government security clearance or ability to obtain one
