High School Math Tutor

We are currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for our learning centre.
Position Requirements
- All Teacher‑Tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (3:30 pm – 8:00 pm) and Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better.
- The role is in‑person; you must be able to commute to the DDO location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not offered. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
- Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the DDO area.
Education
- CEGEP, Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Teaching certification an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Sec 1‑5 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Experience
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 7‑11 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong math skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
- Teach in‑person (online not required).
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Add post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Job Details
- Job Type: Casual Part‑time (6 – 12 hours per week).
- Salary: $16.60 – $18.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Evenings, Monday to Friday; Saturday availability.
