Qualifications

• Teaching or tutoring experience (2+ years preferred).
• Ontario Teaching Certification (OCT) is an asset but not required.
• Availability for part-time hours during weekday afternoons/evenings and/or weekends.

Math & Science Tutor (Grades 4–12)

What You'll Do

• Deliver engaging, 1:1 or small-group instruction in math and/or science (Grades 4–12) using Sylvan’s structured programs
• Create a supportive, focused learning environment where students feel confident and motivated
• Track student progress and communicate effectively with Centre staff to ensure success
• Encourage student participation using Sylvan’s reward and recognition systems
• Prepare materials ahead of sessions and maintain clear learning logs
• Attend occasional team meetings and participate in Sylvan training programs

What You Bring

• Post-secondary education in math, science, education, or a related field
• Teaching or tutoring experience (2+ years preferred)
• Ontario Teaching Certification (OCT) is an asset but not required
• Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for helping students
• Reliability, organization, and ability to work independently
• Availability for part-time hours during weekday afternoons/evenings and/or weekends
