Job summary

Sylvan Learning - Langley is seeking part-time upper-level math teachers to provide supplemental education in a small group setting. Instructors will teach a range of math subjects, evaluate student progress, and create an engaging learning environment. Ideal candidates will hold or be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree and have strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of calculus, algebra 1 & 2, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Tutoring experience preferred.

Sylvan Learning is the industry leader in providing supplemental education to children in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. We are currently looking for upper level math teachers. As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1 setting.Students of all levels will need assistance on material ranging from Algebra to Calculus. As a successful teacher you will: -Teach using Sylvan based programs -Assist with Math Homework & Assignments -Supervise, interact with and motivate students -Reward students for completed assignments -Evaluate and document student progress -Communicate student needs to the center director -Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment Hours of Instruction Monday - Thursday 2:30 - 7:30 pm Friday 2:30 - 5:30 pm Requirements: - A Bachelor's Degree or currently working on a Bachelors - Advanced knowledge and familiarity with teachingcalculus, algebra 1 & 2, geometry and trigonometry - Tutoring experience preferred - Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task
