Math and Science Teacher

Permanent

Annual Salary Range : $69,000 - $[amount], (depending on qualifications and years of experience)

The Bishop Strachan School (BSS) has been a leader in girls’ education since [year]. We are looking for a Math and Science Teacher who will primarily teach Grade 10 Math and one section of Science.

What You’ll Do :

1. Prepare lesson plans, outlines, and assessments using inquiry and problem-based learning that engage students, challenge them, and meet subject-specific outcomes and expectations.
2. Differentiate lesson plans based on the needs of your students.
3. Participate in co-curricular activities including coaching, clubs, trips, and school community events.
4. Support the overall well-being and growth of students in the Senior School.
5. Integrate technology in the classroom to enhance learning and deepen understanding.
6. Communicate effectively with parents about student progress and overall program.
7. Incorporate diversity, equity, inclusiveness, and belonging into the classroom environment.

Who You Are :

• Must have an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification, preferably in Mathematics and Science.
• Intermediate / Senior teaching qualifications.
• Passion for aligning educational research with classroom practice.
• Proficiency in Google Suite; knowledge of Brightspace is an asset.
• A growth mindset focused on continuous improvement and learning.
• Culturally competent with a positive attitude towards diversity and inclusiveness.
• Committed to creating an inclusive environment for students, families, and colleagues.
