Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking Field Materials Technicians with a strong background in concrete, aggregate, and soil testing to join our Construction Services team for projects in North West BC and surrounding areas. You will assist the Field Lead in coordinating and conducting laboratory testing both on-site and in the field.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Field Lead in conducting field and laboratory testing of aggregate, soils, and concrete.
  • Perform various lab and field materials testing.
  • Mentor new and junior employees.
  • Maintain laboratory certifications.
  • Communicate test results and provide technical advice to internal staff and external clients regarding soils, concrete, and aggregate issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure project completion within schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines in the lab and field.
  • Coordinate field equipment and perform routine maintenance and calibration of instruments.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Civil Engineering Technology diploma is an asset but not required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in lab and field materials testing.
  • CCIL and/or CSA certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites.
