Job summary

NSG/Pilkington is seeking a capable supervisor to lead the materials production area, oversee scheduling, logistics, customer service and inventory control, and ensure timely procurement of materials at the lowest possible cost without compromising quality. The role focuses on capacity planning and cost optimization.

Candidates should have a4-year degree in business management and 5+ years in manufacturing with at least 2 years in supervision, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in Business Management or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years experience in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems related to manufacturing processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the materials production area, scheduling, logistics, customer service, and inventory control.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and services at the lowest cost without impacting quality or service.
  • Provide long-term production and inventory plans to maximize capacity and asset use.
  • Establish and maintain 5S and plant housekeeping to standard or better.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction/avoidance opportunities.
  • Manage flow of raw packaging materials and supplies into the facility and the related processes.
  • Keep departmental expenses within budget and work with staff on cost-reduction projects.
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships (internal and external).
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • Take a leadership role in promoting product quality, employeedevelopment,and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Supervise the materials production area, scheduling,logistics/ customerserviceand inventory control functions, ensuring that materials and services areprocuredin a timely mannerat the lowest possible prices withoutimpactingquality, performance, or customer service.
  • Implement andmaintaineffective controls for all areas of responsibility.
  • Provideslong-termproduction and inventory plans that ensureoptimalutilizationof capacity and assets.
  • Establishandmaintaineffective internal and external customer relationships
  • Identifyand implement cost reduction/ avoidance opportunities.
  • Manage the flow of raw packaging materials and supplies coming into the facility and the processes and systems to efficiently manage the material flow.
  • Manage departmental expenses to meetbudget. Work with departmentemployeeto create cost reduction projects.
  • Establish and maintain 5S system. Work with supervisors and hourly employees to ensure plant housekeeping meets orexceedsstandards.
