AGS Automotive Systems is a full-service automotive supplier specializing in the manufacture and supply of complex high value-add automotive metal components, including front and rear impact assemblies, primarily for pick-ups and the heavy truck market. AGS offers a full range of in-house capabilities, including design and engineering, high tonnage metal stamping, lightweighting solutions, innovative multi-material joining, high-performance coatings including chrome plating, and automated manufacturing processes.

We are seeking a Materials Scheduler/Planner to join our Cambridge team.

Basic Function:

Reporting to the Materials Superintendent, the Materials Scheduler/Planner is responsible for inventory control activities, production and labor scheduling to ensure customer requirements are met.

Principal Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Adhere to procedures and instructions.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and practices, ensuring safety standards are met, including Standards of Section 28 of the OHSA.
Inventory Control Responsibilities within QAD:
  • Schedule metal stamping lines 6, 8, & 9, as well as progressive dies.
  • Schedule 13 welders and service pack activities.
  • Develop scheduling systems for coating processes.
  • Review daily schedule attainment to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Ensure timely communication regarding shipments and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with all AGS intercompany plants to ensure rack flow accuracy and production schedule alignment.
  • Perform audits such as LPA, FIFO, and inventory checks.
  • Participate in 5S Gemba walks and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as backup for Jr. Materials Planner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure preventive maintenance (PM) schedules are met and plan for scheduled downtime.
  • Schedule releases to ensure 100% on-time delivery, optimizing manpower utilization.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy across all levels.
Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, customer shipping requirements, and production scheduling.
  • Grade 12 education and at least three years of experience in a computerized materials management or production environment.
  • Proficiency in computer use, interpersonal skills, and effective communication.
