Our manufacturing client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Materials Manager to lead inventory control, production planning, and materials coordination in our fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring timely customer deliveries, efficient use of resources, and alignment with financial and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate manufacturing operations using capacity planning and Sales & Operation Planning tools to meet customer demand
  • Lead inventory control activities including accuracy, cycle counts, and physical inventories
  • Manage material planning, production scheduling, and packaging supply to support 100% on-time delivery
  • Control SCOP functional costs (packaging, freight, storage, etc.) within budget
  • Maintain accurate part and cost data in SAP and proprietary systems (e.g., PASS, COGNOS, NIAPS, FPACS)
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding supply issues, delivery commitments, and order status
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14000 and TS16949 standards, supporting continuous improvement
  • Participate in long-term planning and RFQ processes to support business growth
  • Monitor nonconforming product, initiate corrective actions, and support quality system integrity
  • Support team performance through strong communication, coaching, and human resource planning

What You Bring:

  • University degree in a related field
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in automotive manufacturing (unionized environment is an asset)
  • Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with systems such as SAP, PASS, COGNOS, and others
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
