Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre-trip inspections: check oil, fluid levels, tires, lights, brakes, etc.
  • Complete and submit daily checklists.
  • Report all repair requirements to the Fleet Mechanic promptly to ensure truck is in optimal condition.
  • Drive and operate a 1-ton flatbed truck and vehicles with bumper pull trailers.
  • Exercise reasonable care in truck operation and adhere to safety rules and regulations.
  • Obtain job details and plan the best routing to designated areas.
  • Haul trash material to landfill and dispose of materials in designated areas, cleaning the vehicle as necessary.
  • Physically load equipment and tooling (fence panels, signage, etc.).
  • Submit daily activity reports, haul tickets, and purchase receipts.
  • Transport materials and aggregates from suppliers to job sites.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of hauling materials and equipment, with truck driving experience within city limits.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License required.
  • Proven safety record with care and diligence.
  • Current clean 5-year Driver’s Abstract in good standing with minimal demerits.
  • Understanding of transportation legislation and regulations.
  • Previous relevant experience is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2000 hours experience with similar equipment.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Strong planning skills for scheduling and documentation.
  • Promotion of safe work practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This position is safety-sensitive and subject to Primary’s Alcohol and Drug Policy, including pre-employment testing.
