Job summary

IEM, based in Surrey, BC, is seeking a Materials Coordinator to report to the Materials Manager. This on-site role requires 100% in-office presence in Surrey, BC, with duties spanning kanban checks, material handling, and inventory management to ensure timely replenishment and accurate deliveries.

The position emphasizes reliability, attention to detail, and strong communication within the production team, with compensation CAD 22.50–24.00 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled kanban checks at designated locations throughout the production floor to identify parts and materials requiring replenishment.
  • Pick, transport, and deliver parts and materials from warehouse and storage areas to workstations in the correct quantities and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor bin and kanban inventory levels at each workstation, triggering replenishment actions when minimum stock thresholds are reached.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and condition of materials before delivering to workstations to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues to the Value Stream Leader/Work center Lead.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (if certified) to move materials safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly labeled kanban locations and workstation staging areas.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as directed by your supervisor.
  • Follow established safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately identify part numbers, quantities, and kanban signals to ensure correct materials reach the right workstations.
  • Reliability: Dependable and self-motivated with the ability to follow replenishment routes and schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with production team members, coordinators, and supervisors regarding material needs and issues.

Salary Range: $22.50 - $24.00/h

Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

Compensation Range: $22.50 - $24.00/hr CAD
