Location: Blenheim, ON
Shift: Day Shift (7:30am-3:30pm) Flexibility with working hours as per business needs.

Salary: 75,000-90,000/annual

Position Overview:

As a Planner/Buyer, you will support and enhance the efficiency of the supply chain at our manufacturing site in Blenheim, Ontario and our sites in the United States. Your background in materials planning, purchasing of materials, equipment and tooling, strong work ethic, and attention to detail will help drive excellence and continuous improvement in our Lean manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Planner:
  1. Materials Forecasting: Develop accurate forecasts for material requirements by estimating demand fluctuations using INFOR Visual with a future transition to SAP.
  2. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, order additional materials when needed, and confirm timely delivery and quality.
  3. Production Schedule Review: Compare upcoming production schedules with INFOR Visual (SAP) Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) to address raw material needs proactively.
  4. System Reviews & Metric Analysis: Conduct daily system checks and analyze metrics to identify material shortages, track order progress, rejections, scrap, and rework using INFOR Visual (SAP). Ensure system lead times are accurate.
  5. Cycle Counting & Inventory Control: Lead cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciling inventory discrepancies.
  6. Stocking Strategies: Develop Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to minimize lead times and optimize production flow.
  7. Production Scheduling: Ensure departments are scheduled appropriately with necessary inventory, material transfers, and assembly builds.
  8. Job Sequencing & Capacity Support: Assist with job sequencing and manage capacity planning in manufacturing and assembly areas.
  9. Replenishment Strategy: Contribute to developing and implementing systematic replenishment processes.
  10. Demand Conversion: Translate demand into production orders and manage related MRP processes.
  11. Customer Support: Address lead time and delivery inquiries by collaborating with Customer Service, Sales, and clients.
  12. Perform other duties as needed
Buyer:
  1. Purchasing: Placing timely orders while working with vendors to maximize potential savings and JIT (Just In Time) inventory requirements.
  2. Vendors: Develop strong relationships to bring vendors along as partners in the process.
Education & Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  2. Demonstrated proficiency and exceptional ability in materials planning.
  3. Experience with ERP/MRP systems (INFOR Visual) (SAPB1 preferred).
  4. Solid understanding of purchasing processes, corporate goals, and experience interacting with suppliers and freight carriers.
  5. Technical proficiency in MRP and/or ERP system fundamentals.
  6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with purchasing, warehousing, shipping/receiving, and manufacturing teams.
  7. Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
