Career Opportunity

GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for a highly organized and detail oriented Material Inventory Controller to join our Materials Assets and Compliance team!

With particular focus on project accounts, the Material Inventory Controller will be responsible for managing and optimizing our inventory processes to ensure the efficient control, management and flow of materials throughout our manufacturing operations. This covers all aspects from project inception to the through life support phase.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage processes for dispositioning excess parts at the end of programs/jobs:
    • Develop and apply procedures for managing excess parts.
    • Work with material management and Project Managers for efficient handling.
    • Keep records of excess parts and their disposition.
    • Collaborate with departments to repurpose or recycle parts.
    • Comply with environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the equipment calibration program for accurate maintenance:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders for required calibrations.
    • Liaise with external calibration service providers.
    • Keep detailed records of calibration activities and results.
    • Ensure compliance with calibration standards and regulations.
  • Enhance and manage quarantine processes for product quality and safety:
    • Review and improve quarantine procedures for incoming materials and products
    • Monitor quarantine areas and segregate non-conforming items
    • Work with quality assurance teams to resolve issues and release items for production
    • Keep accurate records of quarantine activities and outcomes.
  • Review and Identify opportunities for improvement with the Company's Health & Safety (H&S) program:
    • Perform regular audits and assessments of H&S practices.
    • Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
    • Work with the H&S team to develop and implement safety improvements.
    • Train and support staff on H&S best practices.
    • Keep records of H&S activities and compliance
  • Design and lead the implementation of process improvements for material handling:
    • Analyze current processes to identify improvement areas.
    • Develop strategies to optimize material handling and storage.
    • Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams for efficient material flow.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of improvements.
    • Keep records of process changes and outcomes.
  • Design a holistic tool library program:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive tool management system.
    • Ensure proper cataloging, storage, and maintenance of tools.
    • Establish check-out and return procedures.
    • Monitor tool usage and ensure availability for all departments.
    • Collaborate with procurement to manage inventory and acquisitions.
    • Train staff on tool library procedures and best practices.

Qualifications

  • A Diploma in Industrial Technology with a keen interest in manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience in inventory control or materials management, preferably in a manufacturing environment with a focus on project accounts.
  • Strong technical skills with proven experience in similar manufacturing environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and automated inventory systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
