Job summary

Stream-Flo Industries Ltd. is seeking a Materials Handling Technician in Edson, Alberta. You will handle shipping/receiving activities, perform cycle counts, and maintain inventory while supporting facility upkeep and equipment maintenance.

The role requires a high school diploma with relevant experience, mechanical aptitude, and forklift or crane experience. A valid driver’s license and computer skills are assets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with related two years experience preferred
• Mechanical assembly/repair experience is a plus
• Forklift experience is an asset
• Computer skills are an asset
• Knowledge of Stream-Flo equipment is an asset
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Strong communication (oral and written) skills
• Detail oriented with good interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with good organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outbound shipments with transport companies and complete related paperwork
• Perform hotshot services as required
• Pick and distribute material for storage or shipping
• Ship and receive products and equipment
• Load/unload trucks using forklift or crane
• Maintain organized work area and monitor equipment and storage containers
• Manage inventory and stock incoming items
• Conduct regular cycle counts of new stock
• Paint products as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

The Material Handling Technician is responsible for shipping and receiving activities along with facility maintenance and inventory as related to branch requirements.

Key Position Functions Include

• Contact transport companies to setup outgoing shipments and handle applicable paperwork
• Perform hotshot services to location as required
• Pick and distribute material for storage or shipping
• Ship and receive products and equipment
• Load/unload trucks with forklift and/or crane
• Organize and maintain the work area, including maintenance of equipment, product storage containers and racking
• Manage inventory by stocking incoming transferred items
• Perform regular cycle counts of new stock
• Paint products as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Candidates Will Possess a Combination Of The Following

• High School Diploma, supplemented with related two years of gate valve or wellhead assembly or rebuilding experience preferred
• Mechanical assembly/repair experience
• Forklift experience an asset
• Computer skills an asset
• Knowledge of Stream-Flo and/or competitors equipment would be an asset
• Strong mechanical aptitude, good work ethic and willingness to learn
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Strong communication (oral and written) skills
