Job summary

Maersk Logistics & Services Canada, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator to support warehouse movements, loading and unloading, and routine material handling. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, use RF scanners, and help maintain accurate inventory in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of warehouse experience, and the ability to lift 50+ pounds. English communication skills are essential, and overtime/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year warehouse experience preferred.
  • Must be able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding/shrink wrap material.
  • RF scan gun experience required.
  • Must be able to work overtime and some weekends.
  • Excellent reading and comprehension of work instructions.

  • Use the manifest to pull routes, stage freight, and assist drivers in loading/unloading trucks.
  • Perform picking, packing, scanning, and related duties as needed.

Summary

The role focuses on the movement of products throughout the warehouse using various types of Material Handling equipment. The role requires the skills and experience to operate/drive manual handling equipment in accordance with local legislation. These roles will mostly require an externally accredited qualification/license. Typical titles include Forklift Operator, Equipment Operator, and MHE Operator.

Responsibilities
  • Utilizing the manifest to pull route, stage freight, and assist Drivers to load and unload trucks
  • Material handling may include one or more of the following: picking, packing, scanning, kitting (as applicable), counting products, and other like duties
  • Must ensure timeliness, packaging, and systems work is completed accurately
  • Identifying and annotating overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D)
  • Safely operated warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Read and follow detailed and defined instructions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure a safe and secure work environment, including all TSA and OSHA guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred - 1 year’s experience
  • Must be able to use forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding/shrink wrap material
  • Experience using an RF scan gun required
  • Previous forklift certifications preferredMust be able to work overtime as needed, occasional weekends
  • Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions well
  • Must have the ability to work well with others
  • High attention to detail required
  • Must have the ability to work well with others with little supervision
  • Must be able to lift 50+lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
Physical Requirements

This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Position requires employees to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, bend, and lift objects above their head. Employees must be able to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds unassisted and use pallet jacks and forklifts.

Pay Range

$22.00 - $23.00 CAD. The above-stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
