Job summary

West End Radiators in Manitoba seeks a Material Handler Technician to safely move, store and manage materials across the facility. You will verify incoming shipments, track inventory, and support production with accurate material flow.

The role requires 1–2 years in warehousing or manufacturing, forklift certification, and familiarity with ERP/WMS systems. A strong eye for detail and teamwork are essential for success in this busy environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of warehouse or materials handling experience.
• Ability to read Engineering Drawings and Parts Lists.
• Experience in manufacturing or logistics environment.
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
• Knowledge of Lean or 5S practices.
• Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments and verify accuracy against packing slips or invoices.
• Label and store materials with manual and computerized tracking.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to evaluate proper stocking levels of raw and purchased materials.
• Pull materials for production or shipping based on work orders and schedules.
• Assist with cycle counts and reconciliation of discrepancies.
• Document shipping, receiving, and inventory accurately and timely.
• Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts and handling equipment.
• Assist with shop tasks including testing and cleaning customer products and DPF cleaning.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Comply with safety regulations and procedures for material handling and equipment use.
• Other duties as assigned

The Material Handler Technician Position:

We are hiring a motivated and experienced Material Handler Technician who will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement, storage, and handling of materials, supplies, and products throughout the facility. This role ensures that materials are delivered to the appropriate departments in a timely manner and supports inventory accuracy through careful documentation and reporting.

What you will do:

• Pull materials and supplies for production or shipping based on work orders and schedules.

• Complete all documentation related to shipping, receiving, and inventory in an accurate and timely manner.
• Load, unload, and move materials and products using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment.
• Assist with shop tasks as needed, including but not limited to testing and cleaning customer products and DPF cleaning.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Comply with all company safety regulations and procedures for material handling and equipment use.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualified candidates will possess the following skills/qualities:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or materials handling role.
• Experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
• Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings and Parts Lists
• Ability to use a Tape Measure and Understand Imperial and Metric Measurements.
• Knowledge of Lean or 5S practices.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain within a set period).
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems or WMS.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
• Experience with Power and Hand Tools considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• This position requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs and handle repetitive operation of equipment, bending, reaching, kneeling, and stretching. Handling and gripping would be required for some activities. Exposure to dust/occasional excessive noise levels.
