General Description Of Duties And Objectives

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of packaging materials (60%) and operating key packaging equipment (40%). Key responsibilities include delivering packaging materials, consolidating materials, cycle counting, inventory management, and operating equipment like fillers, packers, labelers, and conducting quality checks. The role requires adherence to safety, quality, cost, and delivery standards, working in a team environment, and following all ISO9001, GMP, and EH&S policies.

Responsibilities
  • Operate lift trucks to transport materials following safety regulations.
  • Verify incoming shipments and check carrier documentation.
  • Assist in setting up production lines, conduct safety checks, and manage materials.
  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare materials for production and complete documentation.
  • Perform inventory functions including cycle counts using software.
  • Transport and warehouse materials accurately.
  • Maintain equipment and change forklift batteries.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties like pallet binding, re-stacking, and line clean-up.
  • Cover for team members as needed.
  • Conduct safety and quality audits and report findings.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools.
  • Collaborate with various departments and support waste minimization and compliance efforts.
  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of packaging equipment, including repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Set up and troubleshoot equipment to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of machinery and work areas.
  • Follow all safety and quality protocols, including LOTO and MSDS procedures.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately within SAP platform.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and meet efficiency standards.
Education And Experience
  • Minimum Grade 12 education.
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Competency in math and English at grade 12 level.
  • Forklift operation experience (asset).
  • Knowledge of chemicals and hazardous materials handling (asset).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP/JDE (asset).
  • Energetic, disciplined, and committed.
