Job description

Job Title: Material Handler (Maintenance)

Location: ADC

Shift: Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-11:30pm and Friday 11:00am-7:30pm

Job Summary

The Maintenance Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the PDC (Parts Distribution Center). This role supports daily operational efficiency by performing routine cleaning, waste management, and general maintenance tasks. Forklift operation is also required as part of equipment movement and material handling duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the PDC.
  • Perform daily garbage pickups throughout the PDC.
  • Sort and separate waste materials such as wood, cardboard, metal according to company recycling and disposal protocols.
  • Break down, stack, and organize empty crates and pallets.
  • Sweep floors and maintain clear walkways to uphold safety standards.
  • Operate the scrubber machine to clean warehouse flooring.
  • Safely operate a Counterbalance forklift as needed to move materials or assist with disposal tasks.
  • Report safety concerns, facility damages, or equipment issues promptly to the supervisor.
  • May be assigned additional tasks or requested to support other warehouse operations as needed to assist the overall team.

Qualifications

  • Valid Counterbalance forklift license and hands-on experience operating a Counterbalance forklift. (required).
  • Prior experience in a warehouse, janitorial, or maintenance role is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Physically capable of lifting, bending, standing, and working in a warehouse environment.
  • Basic understanding of safe material handling and waste segregation practices.
  • Comfortable operating floor cleaning equipment. (scrubber machine).

Work Environment

  • Active warehouse setting with potential exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
  • Requires use of PPE and adherence to all safety protocols.
