Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent and warehouse experience.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Health and Safety rules and legislation while performing job functions.
  • Load and unload trucks, operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Receiving duties: verify material received, document discrepancies, and store properly.
  • Identify and label special order material and damaged material; store in proper location.
  • Note shipping discrepancies and initiate freight claims as needed.
  • Picking, packing, and shipping duties including documentation for shipments.

Job Description

As a Material Handler / Inside Sales Associate, you will be responsible for managing customer orders from initial inquiry through fulfillment, while maintaining warehouse operations. You will pick, pack, and ship customer orders, count and verify incoming vendor material and customer returns, and provide exceptional customer service through sales assistance, quotations and strong customer service. Your attention to detail and customer-focused approach will ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and support revenue growth.

  • Develop and apply comprehensive product knowledge to support customer needs and sales opportunities
Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Follow all Health and Safety rules and legislation while performing job functions
  • Load and unload trucks, operate forklift and other material handling equipment
  • Receiving duties include:
    • Upon unloading vendor shipments or customer returns, obtain the packing slip and verify material received. Note any discrepancies or damaged material
    • Print and verify the computer receiving documents and enter material received into the computer system
    • Identify special order material and damaged material and store in proper location
    • Note all shipping discrepancies on freight carrier's Bill of Lading, initiate freight claims and forward paperwork to appropriate teammate
  • Picking, packing, and shipping duties include:
    • Pick material for customer orders, counting and comparing items to the shipping documentation
    • Assemble material and pack appropriately for pick up or shipment to customer
    • Complete documentation for any shipments being delivered via third party carrier or requiring Transportation of Dangerous Goods documentation
  • Inside Sales Support responsibilities include:
    • Assist customers at the counter by answering product inquiries, providing recommendations, and processing orders
    • Support sales teammates by gathering product information, preparing quotes, and addressing customer requests about product specifications and packaging
    • Identify and communicate customer needs and sales opportunities to the sales team
    • Maintain product knowledge to effectively support customer inquiries and contribute to sales conversations
Qualifications
What we are looking for from you:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and/or University degree an asset
  • A minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience preferred
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge
  • Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and any other material handling equipment
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail
  • Able to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
  • Intermediate math skills
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of products sold at the Profit Centre
  • Experience using M3, Word, Excel, and Outlook
