Job summary

Ryder System Inc. is hiring a Material Handler I for Fort Hills, a Fly In Fly Out location. Under the supervision of the Logistics Supervisor, you will perform core warehouse tasks, including loading, picking, packing, and shipping, with forklift operation and cycle counting.

The start pay is $31.44 per hour. Shifts run 6:00am–6:00pm, 7 days on, 12 hours per day, then 7 days off. Training occurs in Edmonton and the assignment begins at Fort Hills with flight and lodging provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year of related warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift operator license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping and receiving.
• Operate forklift and maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts.
• Process paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Assist with maintenance of automated packing systems during production.

Summary

Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Material Handler I performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.

Start Pay: $31.44 per hour

Shift Hours: 6:00am to 6:00pm, 7 days on, 12 hours per day, then 7 days off

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Role.

Location: Remote Camp - Fort Hills (2 to 5 days training in Edmonton before the assignment. After the training period, you will work at Fort Hills for 7 days on 7 days off rotation shift. We will provide the flight ticket and accommodation).

Essential Functions

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting
• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
• Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production

Additional Responsibilities

• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Some locations may require a Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check as a part of the background screening process to drive a company vehicle as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED preferred

Compensation Information
