Job summary

Husky Technologies TM in Bolton, ON is seeking a Material Handler to receive, process and deliver material to storage and assembly work cells, while maintaining inventory and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires rotating Day/Afternoon shifts with a pay of $22–$24 hourly.

Qualifications

• Experience in receiving and inventory accuracy using production systems.
• Ability to perform primary and secondary quality verifications.
• Experience with continuous improvement and 5S is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming material for correct part numbers and quantity per procedures.
• Inspect incoming material for quality and follow the Non-Conforming process when required.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by transferring items in Baan.
• Pick and prep items for production and perform primary and secondary verifications.
• Prepare parts for paint with cleaning, masking, and racking; apply touch-ups as needed.
• Review processes for accuracy and follow standard work instructions.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and maintain Non-Conformance reports in Baan.
• Provide training for new Material Handlers and coach team members.
• Experience in process improvements and 5S are assets.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as applicable.

This is a contract opportunity up to six (6) months.

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, processing and delivering of material to storage (inventory), appropriate work cells in Assembly (WIP) while maintaining inventory/WIP related work instructions. The Material Handler will be an active participant in Continuous Improvement activities in the Materials team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspecting incoming material for accurate part numbers and quantity by following receiving procedures
• Inspecting incoming material for quality and, if required, following the Non-Conforming process
• Maintaining inventory accuracy on locations by transferring items, both physically and electronically (in Baan), from location to location
• Pick and prep items for production and perform Primary and Secondary Verification (Quality Checks)
• Prepare parts for paint, including but not limited to cleaning, masking and racking. Precision coat both large and small parts of various configurations and be able to apply touch-ups using paint brushes
• Ability to review existing processes and procedures for accuracy and following standard work instructions
• Investigating inventory discrepancies and Maintaining Non-Conformance reports in Baan
• Providing training for new Material Handlers and direction to fellow team members
• Experience in process improvements, 5S, participation and implementation is an asset
• Experience operating overhead cranes, Forklifts is an asset

Technical/Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to express ideas in individual and group situations and to work colaboratiely in a team.
• Understanding of the Materials Management and Supply Chain principles.
• Abilityto communicate effectively, both orally and verbally, across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple pressing issues at a time.
• S elf-starter and team player.

Day / Afternoon Shift

Salary range: $22-24 hourly
