Creation Technologies Ltd is seeking a Material Handler 1 to support electronics manufacturing. Responsibilities include inventory organization, cycle counts, picking, packing, and recording movements in ERP to ensure accurate stock levels and timely production flow.

The role requires high school completion, strong attention to detail, and good communication. The site offers a day shift, transit access, and benefits with a fixed-term contract of 24 months.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory organization and cycle counts by location and status.
  • Transact material in ERP to match physical movements.
  • Pick, count, label, and transact parts for production per lists and requests.
  • Expedite materials to support manufacturing operations.
  • Deliver in-process inventory to work stations.
  • Verify counts and investigate discrepancies; adjust errors.
  • Count inventory with reels counters and scales accurately.
  • Use packaging methods protecting materials including ESD and moisture-sensitive parts.

Job description

The Material Handler 1 performs inventory control activities to support the electronics manufacturing process, contributing to operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Their main tasks include kitting materials for production orders, handling and stocking inventory to Creation and electronics industry standards, and precisely recording movement of inventory in the electronic inventory control systems. Successful Material Handlers have a high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and basic computer navigation skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain inventory organization & cycle count by location, count, and status
  • Transact material in ERP system to match physical movement of parts
  • Accurately pick, count, label, and transact parts for production operations according to pick lists and ad hoc requests
  • Expedite materials and transactions to support manufacturing operations
  • Maintains and delivers in-process inventory to point-of-use work stations
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors
  • Utilize reel counters and scales to accurately count inventory
  • Uses a variety of packaging and handling methods to protect the materials from damage including electrostatic discharge prevention and moisture sensitive parts
  • Store and organize parts considering material handling guidance including FIFO, locator organization, weight, etc.
  • Enter cycle counts in ERP system
  • Process inventory adjustments while following approval hierarchy
  • Bake parts following part specifications
  • Select the correct pocket and tape for tape and reel packaging
  • Follow specifications for orientation of parts in trays and on tape and reel
  • Maintain safety and 5S workplace organization standards
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalency
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Basic computer navigation skills, including email applications
  • Proficient English business communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work closely with others and have good communication skills
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with a dynamic business environment
  • Able to efficiently work in a high-volume, fast-paced, team environment
QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED
  • Ability to download, view, and edit Excel documents
  • Ability to work flexible schedules
  • Use of powered material handling equipment (i.e., pallet jack)
  • Experience handling electronic components
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Controlled manufacturing environment. Work is performed in sitting, standing, reaching and stooped positions. Standing for long periods of time in a manufacturing line doing repetitive tasks. Repetitive hand motions. Strong situational awareness of surroundings to ensure personal safety and prevent potential hazards in a manufacturing environment. Color identification is a requirement of the role. Ability to safety lift up to 40 lbs.

OTHER DETAILS

This is a fixed term 24-month full-time contract, eligible for benefits. Base pay range: $19.50 - $25 per hour. Work shift: Day (7AM-3:30PM Monday to Friday); site is transit accessible. Need to be legally eligible to work in British Columbia, Canada, full-time for any employer. Will require color vision test and background check. Flexibility for overtime.
