Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders, as well as counting, verifying, receiving, and storing incoming vendor materials and customer returns. A high level of attention to detail will ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

Additional duties include:

• Follow all Health and Safety rules and legislation while performing job functions
• Load and unload trucks, operate forklift and other material handling equipment
• Receiving duties include: verifying received materials against packing slips, noting discrepancies or damages, and entering data into the system
• Picking, packing, and shipping: selecting items for orders, verifying against documentation, and preparing shipments
• Report inventory discrepancies and damaged materials to the supervisor
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety
• Assist customers at the counter
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college or university degree is a plus
• At least 1 year of warehouse experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to develop product knowledge
• Willingness to learn forklift operation and software systems
• Intermediate math skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with plumbing and building products
• Proficiency with Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
