Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. Tillsonburg is seeking a material handler to ensure internal and external customers receive required materials and documentation. You will work in a factory/office environment, operating fork trucks safely and stocking areas with materials to maintain uptime.

Responsibilities include following work instructions, maintaining safety standards, and performing inventory counts. Overtime may be required; accommodations available during recruitment as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 or 2-3 years of factory experience.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions and apply sound judgment.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions.
  • Valid forklift license and/or forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be present and ready to work at assigned times.
  • Follow all work instructions for assigned operations.
  • Work safely and follow safety instructions.
  • Operate equipment to provide a safe working environment.
  • Supply the assigned manufacturing area(s) with raw materials, parts, supplies and dunnage to maintain uptime.
  • Operate mobile equipment including fork trucks safely and with due consideration to pedestrians.
  • Ensure materials and finished goods are stored and labeled with proper documentation.
  • Take inventory counts and store parts/finished goods in designated locations.
  • Report equipment defects or safety issues to supervision.
  • Abide by company policies including Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, HR policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook.
  • Overtime may be required at times.

Job Summary:

Required Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of Grade 12 or 2-3 years' experience in a factory setting.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with employees at all levels in a team environment
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and sound judgment to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to perform this job successfully, and must be able to perform all essential functions.
  • Valid forklift driver's license and/or forklift experience preferred
Essential Functions:
  • Be present at work, ready to work at the assigned time for every scheduled work day.
  • Follow all work instructions for all assigned operations.
  • Work safely, following safety work instructions.
  • Operating all equipment, machines, or other device in a manner that provides a safe working environment to yourself and others.
  • Supply the assigned manufacturing area(s) with raw materials, parts, supplies and dunnage to maintain uptime.
  • Operate assigned mobile equipment, including fork trucks safely and with due consideration to pedestrians. Perform inspections/maintenance of assigned mobile equipment as required.
  • Ensures that all materials and finished goods are stored and labeled with proper documentation.
  • Take inventory counts as required; make sure parts/finished goods are stored in designated locations.
  • Report to supervision the absence of, or defect in any equipment or protective device of which you are aware and which may endanger the health and safety of yourself or another worker.
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Overtime will be required at times
Work & Physical Environment:
  • Working in an office and plant environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold and loud environments
  • Safety shoes and safety glasses are required
  • Contribute to safe, clean and comfortable work environment by applying the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support)
Health and Safety:
  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
