Job summary

Saputo, Inc. in Orangeville, Ontario, is seeking a Material Handler to support production and warehousing activities. This role focuses on safe handling and accurate inventory movement of materials to production lines.

Applicants should have 2–4 years of related experience, hands-on MHE equipment knowledge, and strong computer literacy. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 2:30pm–11pm, with competitive pay and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Saputo Orangeville Health and Safety, Food Safety and Quality regulations.
  • Attend scheduled shift regularly and punctually ready to fulfil all duties required.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Comply with all Saputo Orangeville policies and procedures.
  • Report immediately to Supervisor any/all food safety and quality issues identified.
  • Supply, remove and accurately record movement of all packaging materials and ingredients to/from all production lines.
  • Staging supplies for the following day’s production.
  • Responsible for lot traceability of ingredients and packaging.
  • Answering of speaker pages and requests in a timely and efficient manor.
  • Work with warehouse team to prioritize daily work to suit needs of production.
  • Loading and unloading of trailers and trucks, while following inspection procedure.
  • Assisting production and packaging workers with requests for supplies.
  • Use of computer and Maestro system to input and maintain accurate data.
  • Receiving courier packages/materials and delivery to proper recipient.
  • Planning of replenishment for production needs and bulk cheese.
  • Use of MHE equipment transfer skids, bring down materials from racking and loading/unloading trucks.
  • Remove finished goods from production lines and ensure accurate counts and documentation in preparation for transfer to the Distribution Centre.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date inventories of raw materials and staging cooler.
  • Maintain the dry goods warehouse in an organized and clean state – responsible for functioning of the replenishment system.
  • Receiving of chemicals, compressed gases and other miscellaneous materials delivered directly to the plant.
  • Bulk cheese preparation from staging cooler.
  • General housekeeping/organization of both staging cooler and warehouse.
  • Accurately document all required paperwork, including any documentation required for SQF Lead.
  • Lead by example and assist whenever required to ensure top performance on line.
  • Wear all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in daily mandatory stretching program.
  • Adhere to good hand washing practices to ensure food safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary: $26.15
There are salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $27.55/hour.
