Position Title: Material Handler
Department: Production
Location: Nobleford

The Opportunity

In this role you will be responsible for moving materials to different work stations within the plant, to ensure efficient production efforts.

The Team

You will work independently amongst a small team of production staff in order to complete tasks in an efficient manner and will report directly to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor material needs within work stations and respond accordingly to ensure efficient production
• Operate forklift to ensure materials are loaded or moved as required
• Read and interpret work orders, Kanban cards and job orders
• Determine location and amount of material required and deliver it to the appropriate location in a timely manner
• Transport raw materials, finished metal products, and partially finished product to various locations in the plant
• Load and unload forklift, hand cart, dolly or other vehicles with proper material
• Follow all SOP's for job including amount of material to be transported
• Participate in and follow all safety program rules and regulations
• Complete all other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 or GED
• Forklift Certification or the ability to obtain
• Production experience, or experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset
• Ability to monitor and respond to material needs
• Ability to complete repetitive tasks and handle mathematical challenges
• Able to handle a fast-paced work environment and high demand
• Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to be efficient and show initiative
• Good hand/eye coordination
• Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds and have good manual dexterity
• Attention to detail and accuracy
