Job summary

RIMOWA North America Inc. is seeking a Material Handler for the Cambridge, Ontario facility to ensure production lines are stocked and flowing. You will replenish materials, move items on dock and in warehouse, and support line side supply.

The role requires familiarity with production schedules, forklift operation certification, and basic MS Excel. You will assist training of new staff and uphold safety and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to multi-task with high organizational skills and problem solving.
• Self-motivated, energetic and well organized; a great team player who can also work independently.
• Capable of differentiating between colour samples for materials.
• Experience with inventory maintenance and manufacturing processes is an asset.
• Experience with MS Excel and other software is an asset.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow production schedules.

Description

RIMOWA has a unique opportunity for a Material Handler to join the Materials CREW at our Cambridge facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Replenish materials, equipment, and stock for production lines
• Load, unload and move materials on a dock and in a warehouse either manually or with power equipment including forklifts
• Read and follow production schedules, move and prep materials in order of plan, adapt to changes in plan
• Perform material handling activities such as preparing parts for line side supply of materials and inventory handling with power lift equipment.
• A primary focus to ensure productions lines are always stocked and flowing properly.
• Pick, sort, pack, crate, and package materials into appropriate locations.
• Remove scrap and route to appropriate disposal destinations
• Perform light assembly work as required, including but not limited to applying transfer labels, assembly of telescopic handles and assembly of wheels
• Prepare raw materials for production.
• Responsible for daily cleaning of work areas and equipment
• Light housekeeping duties as required.
• Assist training new staff with job requirements and safety procedures.
• Administrative duties such as material transfers and WMS transferring and adjustment of materials, updating and printing spreadsheets, answering phones

• Must be certified to operate counterbalance forklift
• Ability to adapt and learn quickly
• Must be able to accurately maintain a counting system both manually and computerized
• 1-2 years of experience with inventory maintenance and manufacturing processes and standards would be an asset
• Experience with MS Excel and other application software is an asset.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow production schedules
