Description

Required immediately, our Local Abbotsford Branch is seeking a Full Time Material Handler for our Stone Plant.

FLOFORM Countertops is a Canadian company with its head office in Winnipeg, MB, with 16 branches and 5 manufacturing facilities across Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Position Summary

Material Handlers in our Stone Division are responsible for tasks related to hard surface manufacturing, including shipping, receiving, loading, transporting, inspecting, and packaging stone tops and slabs. The role requires safe and efficient operation of mechanical lifts and forklifts, often moving materials through a busy yard and shop environment. Maintaining safe and organized work areas is essential.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Strong core, physically fit - able to lift heavy objects repeatedly
• Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail
• Good measuring and basic math skills
• Strong written and oral communication
• Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software
• Understanding of warehouse processes
• Forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one
• Reliable, positive attitude - able to work in a team setting

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect tops and slabs, interpret technical drawings for quality and specifications
• Load and package countertops onto shipping frames, ensuring proper protection and accurate counts
• Receive inbound raw materials (slabs), ensuring accurate transactions and labeling
• Transport materials safely through the shop and yard, ensuring proper inventory storage
• Use computer systems to update order status and inventory, locate job information, and track progress
• Coordinate shipments with carriers, plan shipment sizes and trucking requirements
• Inspect and maintain forklifts and handling equipment, including daily inspections and basic maintenance
• Follow work instructions and schedules received from the Supervisor
• Maintain a safe and organized work area, supporting housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned
