Job description

The Cahill Group is seeking hands-on, organized, and proactive applicants for a Materials Control Coordinator in St. John’s, NL. As a key member of our Logistics and Assets team, you play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes. You will act as the primary contact for yard and site visitors and be responsible for all aspects of shipping, receiving, and warehousing activities.

As the Materials Control Coordinator, you will manage project materials, handle client-supplied items, and ensure all incoming and outgoing goods are properly tracked and documented. The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills and can work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced team environment. This is a full-time position based at our office on Southside Road, St. John’s.

What will you do?

• Oversee site-specific Material Control activities, including shipping, receiving, and warehousing.
• Manage ordering and issuing of project and shop consumables and supplies.
• Control issuance of all new hire PPE, including union-negotiated items.
• Act as a key holder for opening and closing the building daily.
• Handle client interactions regarding control of client-supplied materials.
• Inspect rigging equipment and track certifications in the database.
• Assist in improving and streamlining material movement and storage activities.
• Ensure protocols and systems are followed and documented properly.
• Inspect and receive incoming shipments according to company and project procedures.
• Coordinate shipping errors with suppliers and the purchasing department, and update relevant paperwork and systems.
• Collaborate with the quality department on shipping and receiving protocols and documentation.
• Perform other duties as required.
