Job description

The Adjunct Faculty Member in Applied Psychology (Health & Wellness) is a key contributor to our department, working under the supervision of the Program Director. This role involves developing course syllabi, delivering curricula on campus, and integrating theory, research, and practice across concentrations such as Health and Wellness, Human Resources, and Gender and Sexuality. The faculty member is also responsible for enhancing course content, serving on thesis committees, mentoring graduate students, and promoting social justice in line with our mission to prepare socially responsible practitioners.

Education / Experience :

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology or a related discipline from an accredited university (preferred).
  • 1-2 years of university-level teaching experience (preferred).
  • Experience in course design and training material development.
  • Proficiency with presentation software and educational technology.

Certifications / Licenses :

  • Registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., CPHR, SHRM, Canadian Psychological Association).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong record of graduate teaching and curriculum development.
  • Commitment to diversity and social justice.
  • Experience with scholar-practitioner models and community-engaged scholarship.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and research skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners and needs.
  • Active engagement in professional development activities.
  • Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and respectful of differences.

Work Environment :

The role requires physical activities such as lifting and fine motor skills, with an environment that is generally clean and safe. The typical job distribution is 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
