Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Master Electrician to advise our team on a part-time monthly contract basis with potential to transition into a full-time role down the line. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential and commercial settings in Ontario and/or Quebec and strong excitement to help support and coach future generations of electricians.

Our team is building a start-up that helps electrical service companies transition knowledge from seasoned electricians. We are seeking a Master Electrician who can help us understand the range and nature of technical questions that electricians have on the job, build a library of resources and answers to those questions, and validate that the content our prototype is surfacing is correct. The role may also involve supporting junior electricians over video call.

Duties

1. Participate in video-calls to answer our team's questions about the day-to-date of electrical work and share feedback on our solution direction.
2. Help document the range of questions and topics that electricians have questions about in their day-to-day jobs.
3. Help draft responses to those questions and review existing responses/resources for quality.
4. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.

There is also potential for the role to involve remote support for electricians in the field via video call. Key tasks may include:

1. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
2. Conduct inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
3. Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
4. Mentor and train junior electricians in best practices and safety protocols.

Requirements

1. Valid Master Electrician license or equivalent certification.
2. Proven experience as a residential and commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
3. Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematic interpretation.
4. Familiarity with low voltage and DC systems is a plus.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
7. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
8. Commitment to safety standards and practices in all aspects of work.
9. Ability to work remotely via Zoom with access to a laptop and reliable internet.
