Job description

Our Cambridge area client provides comprehensive engineering and design services for industrial steam and process systems, including design, build, installation, and after-sales services for industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and manufacturing. They offer customized solutions tailored to specific customer needs.

Reporting to the Automation Production Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Standards Act, wiring and conduit installation for control and high voltage (575V and 460V), wiring termination for instruments, pumps, boilers, and heaters, building electrical panels, integrating new systems as part of the Automation Team, coordinating plant services and contractors, mentoring/training apprentices, and traveling to customer facilities within Ontario as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Interpret information from pre-maintenance work orders to determine repair needs and locations.
  2. Read schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  3. Participate in the Service Team to prioritize, coordinate, and schedule work.
  4. Collaborate with tradespeople and professionals to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
  5. Take measurements using high voltage testing equipment.
  6. Maintain relevant training and certifications such as ‘WHMIS’ and ‘Working at Heights’.
  7. Stay updated on new equipment by reading manuals and engaging in hands-on activities.
  8. Travel to customer facilities within Ontario based on business needs.
