Role Overview

This full-time, on-site role involves shift work including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts. You will assist in achieving CBC's objectives by providing technical and production guidance in the Master Control facility, coordinating programs, and troubleshooting operational issues.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Patch, switch, and route video/audio feeds and communications circuits, coordinating with production facilities.
  2. Connect facilities for production partners.
  3. Suggest improvements and resolve operational issues.
  4. Manage distribution and collection facilities, including billing records.
  5. Coordinate routing and purchase of circuits, ensuring proper termination.
  6. Resolve transmission problems and communicate network information.
  7. Verify schedules, operate and adjust transmission systems, and convert signals as needed.
  8. File program information and perform related duties as assigned.
  9. Perform tests, measurements, and equipment adjustments to maintain efficiency.
  10. Monitor and coordinate program delivery and presentation.
  11. Verify schedules, insert corrections, and monitor networks.
  12. Ensure proper setup of communication circuits.
Qualifications
  • Education: Knowledge of network schedules, fibre, satellites, streaming, hardware/software systems, content distribution, typically gained through community college or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in distribution, operations, or production, with system maintenance and troubleshooting skills. Strong computer and communication skills are essential.
