Rapid Novor, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mass Spectrometry Specialist to join our team in Canada.

The role focuses on hands-on LC‑MS operations to support cutting-edge research and development initiatives and requires expertise with LC‑MS systems, sample preparation in a proteomics context, and a collaborative approach to project work. The candidate will operate and maintain Thermo-Fisher MS instruments, coordinate instrument scheduling, and contribute to documentation and data quality.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, or a BSc with 3+ years LC-MS experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Thermo-Fisher MS instruments is a plus.
  • Experience with proteomics sample preparation.
  • Proficiency with Nano and high-flow LC-MS systems from Thermo, Evosep, or Waters.
  • Willingness to perform routine tasks while maintaining reproducibility and accuracy.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain LC‑MS systems for optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Schedule samples across multiple MS instruments according to policy.
  • Support MS needs for services and R&D.
  • Coordinate with service engineers for instrument maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain lab organization and cleanliness of MS labs.
  • Other duties as required for MS lab operation.

Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually

The Position

We are seeking a skilled Mass Spectrometry Specialist to join our innovative team. This hands‑on role requires knowledge of LC‑MS techniques and operations to support our cutting‑edge research and development initiatives.

Our clients routinely use our services in therapeutic discovery, IVD development, basic research, controls and assay development. Our scope of services includes a full suite of R&D programs including antibody discovery, epitope mapping, kinetic analysis, and glycan profiling.

Responsibilities
LC-MS Operations
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain LC‑MS systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
  • Scheduling samples from various teams across multiple MS instruments according to the scheduling policy.
  • Support the mass spec needs for the company’s services and R&D
  • Coordinate with service engineers for instrument maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform normal lab organization and cleaning duties for the mass spectrometry labs.
  • Other duties as required for the operation of the MS laboratories.
Quality Control & Data Management
  • Prepare and load Quality Control samples and assess system performance.
  • Review quality control data to evaluate run performance and identify instrument issues.
  • Maintain detailed laboratory records and documentation.
  • Analyze and interpret complex mass spectrometry data to monitor the performance of LC‑MS systems.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Draft and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for MS workflows.
  • Contribute to the documentation and accessibility of protocols and records.
  • Maintain good instrument use, maintenance logs and quality assurance documentation.
  • Work with the team to measure opportunities and pipeline generated by marketing activities
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, or BSc with at least 3 years' post‑degree experience working with LC‑MS.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience with Thermo‑Fisher MS instruments is a huge asset.
  • Experience with sample preparation in a proteomics context.
  • Proficiency with both Nano and high flow rate LC‑MS systems from different vendors (Thermo, Evosep, or Waters) is an asset
  • Willingness to perform routine tasks while focusing on reproducibility and accuracy.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as a team and to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral/written communication skills.
