Job description

Immiland Canada, in collaboration with a leading company in the construction industry, is seeking talented, skilled, and motivated builders and masons to join their team on various projects.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of construction workers engaged in bricklaying, roofing, cement finishing, tile setting, plastering, drywall installation, glazing, insulating, painting, and workers who install and service prefabricated products in residential and commercial properties. Also includes workers who repair a wide variety of products such as musical instruments, sports equipment, vending machines, bicycles, and cameras.
  • Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades required at construction sites.
  • Assist in drilling and blasting rock at construction sites.
  • Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean, and pile salvaged materials.
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment.
  • Assist miners in excavating and in setting up and operating various drills and surface mining machinery.
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other subcontractors.
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Requisition materials and supplies.
  • Train workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions.
  • Prepare work progress reports.
  • May manage the operations of own company.
  • May also supervise, coordinate, and schedule activities of related apprentices, helpers, and laborers.
Requirements
  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Several years of experience in the trade or the work area supervised are required.
  • Some experience as a general construction laborer.
