Pay: $35–$45 an hour

Job Type: Full-time

Shift and Schedule: Overtime, Weekends as needed, Night shift

Job Description:

Martushev Logging Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Earthworks Foreman to lead and manage our earthworks projects. As the Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating a dedicated team, upholding safety protocols, and ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. If you are a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, proven supervisory experience, and a passion for managing complex projects, we want you on our team!

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate construction activities on-site, ensuring project specifications and timelines are met.
  2. Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers to develop construction plans, schedules, and budgets that align with project objectives and client requirements.
  3. Plan Review: Analyze project plans, specifications, and schedules to thoroughly understand project requirements.
  4. On-Site Management: Oversee daily activities including excavation, grading, compaction, and erosion control, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  5. Resource Allocation: Manage labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  6. Operational Guidance: Provide clear instruction and support to the team to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to established procedures.
  7. Safety Enforcement: Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety inspections, and address safety issues promptly to maintain a safe work environment.
  8. Quality Assurance: Monitor progress and conduct inspections to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds project requirements.
  9. Technology Utilization: Familiarity with Outlook, Excel, site docs, and other construction management software such as Bluebeam is an asset.
  10. Training & Mentorship: Develop team members through training on construction techniques and safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
  11. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and solutions for management review.
  12. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Company policies, OH & S Legislation, and WCB reporting procedures.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Minimum 5 years of earthworks construction experience with proven experience in earthworks supervision.
  2. Project Management: Ability to manage constantly shifting project scopes and resources, including large and small scopes simultaneously.
  3. Communication Skills: Strong ability to engage and instruct a diverse workforce, including making on-the-fly adjustments to meet evolving project needs.
  4. Adaptability: Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to new tasks and reallocate resources as needed to maintain project momentum.
  5. Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of equipment operations across a variety of tasks and terrains, offering clear, practical instructions grounded in industry best practices.
  6. Leadership Skills: Positive, approachable demeanor with strong leadership, time management, and people management skills, focused on motivating and guiding the team to success.
  7. Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of OH & S Legislation and WCB reporting procedures.
  8. Standards & Goals: Ability to understand and maintain quality and production standards, working diligently to achieve established production goals.
  9. Technical Proficiency: Experience with construction management software, including B2W and Bluebeam.
