Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Human Resources team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Toronto, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. This is a full-time contract role of 6 months.

As the HR Manager for this project, you will be responsible for the delivery of HR-related tasks across business program workstreams for US and Canada. This role requires a strong understanding of HR practices, change management principles, excellent communication skills, a high degree of organization, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

We will count on you to:

  • Be the primary HR Manager for the project team and follow up with appropriate HR partners where/when required
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and work with leaders to identify and implement strategies to ensure successful outcomes
  • Support data management analytics on project work streams
  • Coordinate across business stakeholders and HR Centers of Excellence to deliver on program
  • During organizational changes, coordinate necessary activity to support People Managers
  • Supports work on program materials and library with content like role descriptions, assessment tools, onboarding and training plans
  • Provide HR guidance on job leveling, compensation analysis and other talent management activities
  • Support change management efforts, ensuring effective communication and engagement with stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Ensure that regulatory and statutory obligations are discharged locally including statutory and/or regulatory reporting requirements
  • Provide regular updates to HR Leader on progress and outcomes
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by gathering feedback and recommending best practices

What you need to have:

  • 3+ years of project management experience (ideally managing large scale HR and business programs) across multiple business lines/geography
  • Highly organized and able to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities
  • Equal comfort with hands-on execution and strategy development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Disciplined, plan-based approach focused on flawless execution and always meeting deadlines.
  • Strong relationship-building skills. Demonstrated ability to establish rapport, collaborate with diverse personalities and influence others.
