Position: Full-Time Security Guard
Site: Markham Stouffville Hospital
Location: 381 Church Street, Markham
Agreement: Overtime is under Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Hours: Full-Time Continental Rotation (0700-1900/1900-0700)
Payrate: $18.25/hour

Internal Posting: April 21, 2025

Schedule Example

• Week 1 - Days: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
• Week 2 - Days: Sun, Wed-Thu
• Week 3 - Nights: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
• Week 4 - Nights: Sun, Wed-Thu

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas on foot to ensure security.
• Report irregularities, investigate incidents, and contact emergency responders.
• Use two-way radios and computer applications for communication.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders and enforce rules when needed.
• Assist persons in need, provide directions, and respond to emergencies involving violence or injuries.

Prerequisites

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C
• Proof of immunizations: TB, MMR, Varicella
• Immunization records: link
• English fluency (oral and written)
• Previous security, by-law, or parking enforcement experience (asset)
• Certifications in Use of Force and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (UoF/MOAB) preferred; training available if needed.
