About the role

We are currently looking for a talented Presenter for Business News to conduct daily video interviews with CEOs, research client companies, and respond promptly to breaking stories. Ideal candidates will be a self-starter and possess excellent research and writing skills, and a strong on-camera presence. Qualifications include a background in Journalism or related fields, proficiency in English, and knowledge of trending sectors. This role is part-time and based out of our office in Downtown Vancouver.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Thorough researching client companies in preparation for CEO Q&A interviews to ensure engaging discussions.
  • Writing qualified, timely and interesting questions for Q&A’s video interviews recorded in our in-office studio. (Zoom and In-person interviews).
  • Conducting multiple two-minute video interviews daily with CEO’s from various industries.
  • Crafting well-researched scripts for presentations on stock market related topics, catering to the interests of our audience.
  • Conducting several segment style videos between 5-10 min, covering important industry developments.
  • Maintaining satisfactory client feedback ratings, showcasing your ability to connect with interviewees and deliver content that resonates with our viewers.
  • Writing summary articles on breaking news as required.
  • Exhibit confidence when interviewing CEOs and industry experts, demonstrating excellent research skills and deep understanding of trending sectors.
  • Occasionally engage in stylistic writing as required to enhance content quality.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in crafting engaging and informative content.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Attend conferences and tradeshows.

Qualifications

  • Great television presence
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent writing, and editorial skills
  • Demonstrated talent as a presenter with an ear for pacing, tone, presentation, and production.
  • Innovator and risk taker
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, resourceful; speed, accuracy, and flexibility a must.
  • Strong interpersonal and team playing skills.

Great to have

  • Education in Journalism, Communications, English or related field
  • Solid journalistic background, including experience hosting.
  • Knowledge of mining, technology, healthcare, biotech and other trending sectors
  • Interest in cross-platform media production
  • Experience as an on-air presenter
