Position Overview :
The Marketing Manager oversees all aspects of marketing operations for the Grey Eagle Hotel & Event Centre. This role is responsible for forming and directing marketing strategies and campaigns, as well as developing, coordinating, and ensuring the successful completion of promotions and in-house advertising. The Marketing Manager collaborates with internal and external teams, including closely working with the in-house Digital Marketing Specialist to execute and optimize social media strategies and other digital marketing initiatives.
During specific marketing campaigns, the Marketing Manager is responsible for estimating the campaign’s budget, approving marketing materials, and evaluating overall performance upon completion. This includes aligning campaign strategies with the Digital Marketing Specialist to ensure cohesive messaging and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop ideas and opportunities that promote awareness of Grey Eagle Hotel & Event Centre and its products, services, and events.
- Work closely with the Digital Marketing Specialist to build and execute social media strategies through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification.
- Measure and optimize content based on analytics.
- Coordinate media buying for the Grey Eagle Hotel & Event Centre and work with account executives to develop ad campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Specialist to develop and implement digital ad campaigns, pay-per-click strategies, influencer marketing, and other internet-based promotions.
- Execute events / promotions / entertainment / group sales including the development and distribution of information (and collateral) about Marketing programs.
- Coordinate requirements, information, and support various initiatives as it relates to promotions, events, entertainment, group sales, or other marketing operational functions in consultation with the Hospitality General Manager.
- Execute and monitor strategic marketing plans, both short and long range, to achieve Grey Eagle Hotel & Event Centre objectives regarding revenue, profitability, and market share.
- Statistically analyze marketing programs and adjust strategy to increase effectiveness to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Research database information to identify customer demographics and interests.
- Consult with management on methods of targeting, developing, and informing customers of upcoming events.
- Prepare financial projections of expected profitability for proposed promotions.
- Provide post-event reports, analysis, and regular status reports on marketing programs to the management team.
- Develop promotions with collaborative support, via all media / communication options, including digital ads, TV ads, commercials, radio ads, pay-per-click, influencer marketing, and other digital internet ads.
- Ensure promotions are creative, bring energy to the property, and adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Maintain an ongoing schedule of promotions as outlined in the property marketing plan.
- Coordinate all internal promotions and updating of digital promotional boards on site.
- Communicate all events and information related to the events to staff members to ensure timely coordination of all promotions and assure that appropriate personnel are equipped to address customer concerns.
- Stay up to date with external and internal developments in the environment for identifying new market segments.
- Assess operational issues in regards to competitiveness.
- Manage resort website updates and improvements to the site.
- Liaise between graphic designers and promotional agencies.
- Additional duties consistent with the position summary may be assigned by the Director of Marketing.
Education and Experience :
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Three (3) years’ experience in social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Google.
- Minimum three years of professional experience in a marketing-related position.
- Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, CRO, and SEO.
- Knowledge of online marketing and major marketing channels.
- Strong collaboration skills, particularly in working with in-house Digital Marketing Specialists.
- Experience in the entertainment industry and / or hospitality industry is an asset.
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office suite of products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe, Access) required.
- Fluency in English.
- Post-secondary education in marketing, business, or communications is an asset.
- Experience working with audio / visual systems is an asset.
- Photography experience is an asset.
- Micros Opera experience is an asset.
