Job description

Reporting to the EVP, Brand, Marketing & Community Engagement and collaborating closely with the Real Estate & Development Department, the Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in leading the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive marketing, branding, and communication strategies, with a focus on Nch’ḵay̓’ s real estate projects and Squamish Nation businesses.

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that promote our businesses—including those in retail, services, trades, and resource sectors—while also leading marketing for residential and commercial real estate projects. The successful candidate is a seasoned industry professional with a strong background in real estate marketing who is adept at brand development and storytelling, as well as creating engaging content for various channels.

Duties, Responsibilities, Authority, and Accountabilities

Integrated Marketing Leadership

  • Develop and implement marketing plans that elevate Nch’ḵay̓’s corporate brand, promote Squamish Nation business units, and drive interest in our real estate projects.
  • Work closely with business development and real estate leaders to understand goals and translate them into creative, audience-specific marketing strategies.
  • Identify and / or create opportunities to elevate the Nch’ḵay̓ brand as an emerging leader in the real estate industry and Indigenous economic development.
  • Champion brand consistency across all initiatives while ensuring alignment with Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) values, culture, and community voice.
  • Oversee in-house graphic design projects for all print and digital marketing assets.
  • Lead marketing efforts for residential and commercial real estate developments, including project branding, signage, presentation centre experiences, advertising, digital content, leasing and sales support.
  • Manage real estate marketing timelines, campaign execution, vendor relationships, and budget oversight.
  • Work with external consultants and community knowledge-holders to lead the development and implementation of strong brand identity and messaging for each real estate development project, ensuring Sḵwx̱wú7mesh cultural identity and connections to place are thoughtfully integrated into the brands.
  • Ensure consistent application of visual brand and messaging for Nch’ḵay̓ and its real estate projects across all communication channels.
  • Manage contracts with external consultants on larger design projects, ensuring alignment with cultural considerations and brand guidelines.

Business Marketing

  • Design and execute marketing strategies for the Nation’s businesses, supporting customer acquisition, market expansion, and community awareness.
  • Develop promotional campaigns, digital strategies, and content that highlight the success and value of our Indigenous-owned enterprises.
  • Coordinate with business managers and staff to support seasonal campaigns, new service launches, and cross-promotions.
  • Partner with consultants and community knowledge-holders to shape brand identities that reflect the unique culture and sense of place of each Squamish Nation business.

Digital & Content Marketing

  • Support website content, social media presence, and email campaigns to promote both real estate and business ventures.
  • Manage the paid media strategy across digital and social platforms.
  • Lead the creation of storytelling content—including video, photography, and copywriting—that reflects community impact and economic advancement.
  • Lead the graphic designer and agencies to produce engaging, on-brand visuals.

Market Research, Budget & Performance Reporting

  • Conduct competitive research, analyze customer data, and monitor industry trends to inform strategy.
  • Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Track campaign performance and marketing KPIs across all business areas and real estate projects, providing regular reports and actionable insights to leadership.
  • Provide regular updates to ensure that real estate project-related information is communicated effectively across Nch'ḵay̓’s divisions as required.

Partnerships & Community Engagement

  • Engage with diverse partners and audiences, including the Squamish People, Squamish Nation Council, Nch’ḵay̓’s Board, employees, and the public, to convey Nch'ḵay̓’s message and garner support for organizational initiatives.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration in support of organizational objectives.
  • Identify and manage strategic partnerships and sponsorships that enhance brand visibility and community connection.
  • Work collaboratively with the Communications & Engagement Team to support community engagement activities that promote trust and awareness of our businesses and real estate projects.

Reporting Responsibilities and Authorities from Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, or Marketing; Completion of a two-year diploma or associate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related discipline may be considered.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in marketing, communications, and / or public relations; previous experience with Indigenous economic development or real estate marketing is an asset.
  • Proficient in digital marketing tools and strategies, including SEO / SEM, Google Ads, Google Analytics, social media advertising, email marketing platforms and CRM systems.
  • Hands-on experience with website content management (e.g., WordPress), campaign tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Skilled in content development, storytelling, and brand building across digital and traditional channels.
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to build productive and respectful working relationships with colleagues and senior management.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage and track multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proven track record of coordinating events for diverse audiences and interest groups.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, grammatical, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Previous experience shooting and editing video content for social media will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working with First Nations is an asset; a strong desire to learn about and uphold Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values and teachings in a respectful manner is essential for this role.

Special Requirements

  • Occasional requirement to work in the evenings and on weekends.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Valid BC Class 5 license is preferred.

Expected Salary Range

100,000 - $107,000 - $115,000

Our typical hiring range will be + / - 5% of the midpoint shown above.
